Being Sincere
Did you know that the word sincere is derived from two words meaning "without wax"? Many years ago, the Romans used to mend broken vases with a type of wax that would make the vases appear perfect, as if they had never been broken. To differentiate the unbroken vases, they would refer to them as "sincere"vases, meaning the vases that had notbeen mended.
Being a sincere person is very simliar. It means that you are genunine and real. You are not covering up anything or misrepresenting yourself. Some people find it difficult to be sincere because it requires them to be honest with themselves and with others. Isn't it better to be true to yourself instead of patching yourself up to appear as someone you are not.
I've been guilty of not being sincere. There have been times when I "put on a happy face", just to make things seem perfect. But I've learned that I don't have to pretend to be someone that I am not.
It doesn't matter about your education, your family history or your past mistakes. It matter that you are who you say you are. By living a lie, you will always be trying to keep up with the lie and will deny yourself and others the opportunity to know your real self.
